Europe 2015: Venice, Italy
April 19- We arrived in Venice in the after noon. Walking around trying to find our way to our air bnb was very confusing and a little stressful, because the streets of Venice are like a winding maze where 'the dead ends' meet up with canals where only boats can travel. There were many bridges to get over the canals because they twisted and turned as well, but the buildings were so pretty, there were some with vines all over them and some with flowers. Some were store downstairs and then house upstairs. When we got to the house where we were going to stay we were tired and hungry so we put down our backpacks and got ready for dinner. Our little place we stayed at was 3 stories but the 1st story was just an entry way and stairs and the front door, the third floor is where me and Reuben stayed and where the kitchen was. Mom and dad stayed on the second floor. After walking around a little more we found a little Italian place (because we are in Italy.) I had pasta with pesto and I believe Reuben had pizza. (because that's like all he ate while in Europe) On our walk back to the house Reuben and I walked ahead of mom and dad and we looked in the shop windows and listened to the street music. I loved the way a guy with an accordion sounded as we passed by him it made me feel like I was in a movie.
We didn't spend much time in Venice so I took lots of pictures.
across the water there was always more beautiful old buildingsThe sunset was so pretty :)
-The next morning- April 20th
Outside of our windows there was a little square with a well in the middle and a tree in each corner, during our stay we would hear people playing music, setting up little shops, kids playing with a soccer ball, and people walking. Today we walked all over and saw many things, and took a break and ate sandwiches and then walked some more. Here's some things we saw:
taken on one of the bridges crossing a canal*another square with carts.
the old buildings were so cool.
one of the many bell towers
a larger and more important square, We didn't get to go inside the cathedral thing because the line was too long and we just wanted to explore
There were so many people.
lots and lots of shopping carts with sunglasses, purses, hats, selfie sticks, maps, books, and more.
below features mom and dad trying to figure out where we are.
The next day we were off to Milan and then Lake Geneva-
sorry this one was lots of pictures and barely any words!
May your shelves be ever full of books, xo Bethany
