Europe 2015- Frankfurt, Germany & Munich

April 14, 2015- With excitement and butterflies in our stomachs we boarded our airplane to EWR NJ. Most of the plane ride I just stared out the window gazing upon the other world above the clouds, and I also read a bunch. Newark New Jersey is where our airplane landed and where we had a 4 hour layover. We spent the time walking around the airport that is EWR and eating at a rude restaurant and I stretched and read a little. We could see Lady Liberty out of one of the windows in the airport which was pretty cool. I love airplane rides because they take you to an amazing place, whether it's somewhere you've been before or somewhere new each one has so many possibilities.

Then we hopped back onto a plane to go to Frankfurt, Germany. Since it was a long over night flight our seats had screens, Reuben was able to watch shows and movies the whole trip while I had to deal with my broken screen. It was fine while I was reading and writing but as soon as night time came and everyone else was going to sleep my screen would flash on and off which lead to little sleep.

                                                                  Landing in Frankfurt! -
After we landed we took a weird bus/train thing to the train station where we took a tram to where we were staying in Friedrichsdorf and we walked through this cute town to get to our gorgeous air b&b (the apartment we were renting) By our apartment there was a little square that held a farmers market early in the morning and food trucks too. There was also other little grocery stores and even an Aldi :) Each morning we had to take 3 vitamins and I have trouble swallowing pills so this was a funny experience every day, me sitting there at the kitchen table trying to take my vitamins.
Skip ahead a little to... (btw traveling was 14ish hours so we got to Franfurt on the 15th and we pretty much rested the entire day we did explore some and we ate pizza.)
April 16- My mom and I explored a little today, we hopped on the tram and took it till we saw an interesting place and then hopped off. I believe it might have been Bad Homburg but I'm not positive. We found an old castle tower thing with walls all around, so me and mom walked the trails and saw the view (below) and then had lunch at a little cafe. While we were walking the trails we passed by a group of school children around my age and that was awkward because they were all staring at me, but the walk was really pretty.

April 17- We packed a picnic and went to downtown Frankfurt/ old town Frankfurt.
Reuben and I would play at any playground we found
(There were many playgrounds, and they were WAY cooler than playgrounds in KC) we would swing around poles and I would always try to do an aerial move.  We walked to a fountain and had lunch and we walked over to the Weisbaden Centre and past Luisen Square.

I love the way all the buildings look.

April 18- Took a train ride to Munich, we explored Munich and ate an authentic German meal and then went to bed. Tomorrow were going to Venice and that blows my mind!
*The whole time we were in Munich I felt really icky and sick :(
Our apartment we stayed at in Munich was really small, it was just a living room, a tiny bathroom, and a tiny kitchen, and a sun room type thing. In the living room there was a little alcove with a bed, and then the couch turned into a bed and Reuben slept on a cot in the sun room thing. Oh by the way the whole place was very colorful and frog themed.
on our way to Venice!
May your shelves be ever filled with books, xo
