An update of sorts.

I find myself in France at the end of Summer and the beginning of a journey.

The mornings here are foggy and chilly, absolutely perfect for hot tea or coffee and morning routines.

My work began crazily, but is calming down into a steady beat.
The house I am staying at is in the country on a hillside. The only thing that is truly in walking distance is a library with fifteen English books.
The girls that I nanny have good days and bad ones. They are warming up to me slowly but surely. When not working, I fill my days with math, college applications, and reading.

I have read and enjoyed Kathryn Stockett's The Help, and Michael Morpurgo's Alone on a Wide, Wide Sea.

As the weather changes, the pages of my notebook are filled with inky thoughts.

Already, within these first four weeks, I have grown. I am learning to stand up for myself. To be a rock and not a doormat. I am learning patience and trying to put it into practice. I see myself relying on the Lord more and more, and seeking Him for guidance.

I am ready for this challenge. I have taken a deep breath and I am ready to plunge underwater.

Here I go, forty-six weeks till I am back home again.

  1. 46 weeks! Wow, you are so brave -
especially to be overseas with minimal family contact.

I love hearing what you are learning and how God is already using you. May He grant you extra patience and love for those girls. <3 Love you!
