2016 Home Tour
On Friday the 25th the girls went christmas tree shopping. We quickly found a nine foot tree that we liked as it had tiny natural pinecones here and there.
I think the 12 year-old was the main decorator of the tree, although my brother and I applied the lights.
We continued to use the lesser baubles this year as they aren't as fragile. They are also much lighter, so sometimes the tree seems a bit 'uppity.'
Adorning the top of the piano, is most of the usual things that grace it's face along with a few added festivities.
Some ornaments that may or may not make it onto the tree.
Our nativity scene which always ends up staying out till late January.
The mantle was decorated by my mother and I alone. (besides the tinsel, I realize now that 12 year-old put that up.)
And then we get to the grand staircase or the "Princess Stairs" (coined by a four year-old when we first moved.
With thanks to the 15 year-old for lighting and decorating.
These glass gifts were hand crafted by my mom.
Now we skip up to the third floor as the second floor is only bedrooms and is not decorated. I quickly decorated the mantle one evening and no one said a thing.
Simple, messy, and colorful. Words that describe both this array and my sisters.
Last but not least we have my room. I host a six foot (I believe) faux tree, and a few other knick-knacks. *Note dying plant in background
Most of my cute animal ornaments can be found at Target.
I made this banner, hanging thing this year by just tying tiny baubles onto string* and attaching that to a slim stick, I think it turned out kind of cute and the ribbon/string sparkles in the light. *I would suggest that if you do this for yourself measure before hand so all your lengths are even.
On my dresser I just added a tiny strand of lights, some plastic baubles, and my bird friend.
FIN.
Those animal ornaments from Target and the handcrafted banner are so cute!
